In close collaboration with Tkgune, the network of Basque Centres for Vocational Training, the RPK plant in Vitoria-Gasteiz hasequipped one of the latest BMW engines, the B58, for training purposes and it has been displayed in the factory reception in Vitoria since 26 May.

Undertaking this learning process with the objective of training the workers has been made possible thanks to the generosity shown by BMW. After setting up a new business line between the German multinational and RPK, which manufactures one of the springs in the new B58 engine, BMW gave the plant in Vitoria the engine used during lifetime tests.

Twenty RPK engineers have already been trained based on the German multinational’s state-of-the-art automotive ingenuity. RPK’s intention is that the rest of the company staff are also instructed using this tool that is equipped with an innovative application allowing the user to analyse and study every component and, at the same time, to locate each part “in situ” in the real engine.

This learning initiative forms part of the group’s commitment to innovation.

This new product line, the spring for the BMW B58 engine, has been given an investment of approximately two million euros by RPK and has created six direct jobs.
